Hi everyone, great comments. I own two Barnett Predators 2010 and 2011 carbonlite. They have made many improvements in the last year. They did away with the 3/8 rail went to a 7/8 weaver rail. The bolt holder is now injected glass, trigger is 3.5pounds less creep.2011 is one pound lighter on the rizer which is surprising more comfortable for stability. They changed string companies they call it a cross wire string...much better. There is a rail under the stock for a laser or light HU HUm. The Anti dry-fire system is nice. And the handle has a black grip which looks sporty. I have killed four deer this year with my new bow I love what you get from Barnett for the money. I would shoot against any bow on the market for speed, accuracy, and price. Kind regards, LC

Did you answer the questions regarding this bow on Cabela's or Bass Pro website , referring to your review ???
I saw your answers , but could never locate your actual review .

I read somewhere that the 2010 models have "new & improved trigger mechanisms" , does anyone know further info. on this ???

I bought mine a few months ago. I was awe struck at the speed and accuracy and looked forward to hunting with it. A buddy of mine was so impressed that he bought one from cabelas. After about forty shots I was cocking mine and the string guide jammed against the string causing it to get away from me and partially dry fire, popping the string. A local archery shop replaced the string and inspected the limbs, saying i was good to go. The first time I cocked it the limbs came apart at the axels. I sent the limb and riser assy to barnett for un warranteed repair due to dry firing over two weeks ago and cannot get them to acknowledge they even received it. This morning after my buddy missed consecutive shots that should have resulted in kills he noticed his axels were bent. His has been shot about 30 times. He is sending his back to cabelas and i am cutting my losses and will purchase another brand. This crossbow has a lot of potential but barnett needs to do a little re engineering to the string guide, trigger, axels and limbs.

I bought a Predator in 2009. After I sighted it in, I love it. I was blown away by the speed and high energy hitting power of this crossbow. When it was new the accuracy was A+++ all the time. .But now in 2010 after replacing a bow string my accuracy sucks with broad heads. Target heads accuracy is OK. Its almost like IM now being forced into buying retractable broadheads now to get my accuracy back to 100 percent for the hunting season which is now here. Part of the problem to is also the crank on the stock. In 2009 it pulled the bow string back perfectly straight everytime. A year latter with a new bow string, it shifts sideways prior to clicking on safety. No wonder It dont shoot the way it is suppose to all the time. A good retractable broadhead plus a $7 carbon bolt,. Thats $20 to shoot at a deer. Corporate Greed is really screwing over the hunters, on everything they sell us. Someone should tell them greedy corps we are in a recession.

My Dad got one last year i've shot it and there's things i like about it and don't like about it.Thing really smokes a arrow. It's fast we're getting 387 fps out of it right know with the set up he's shooting and its pretty quiet compared to other crossbow and the price isn't to bad either. The trigger length isn't the best and if you got a small hand you won't like it, and the quiver suckes. But over all it a nice crossbow.

OK...at the risk of causing an issue...I finally got a chance to shoot a few bolts from this bow. I want to state right at the beginning I went into this with a very open mind and with the idea that If I like this bow I would actually sell it, and this is MY impression of this bow and your milage may vary. Pros: It is fairly quiet, very smooth, and seems like it at least close to advertized speed and seems like it would be very accurate ( hard to judge with only a 5 yrd range). It is a tad nose heavy, but shoulders well and is pretty comfortable. Cons: The trigger is a POS. No other way to say this. To give an idea of how bad this is I took one shot and just did a steady consistant pull till it released. The trigger is way far forward and unless you have very long fingers is awkward to reach and the creep is disgusting. So I reload and go to take another shot. This time I begin to pull the trigger and stop before it comes off the sear. At this point the rep for a compound bow standing in the booth next to me looks over and says "Is there something wrong with that trigger??? I see you pulling and pulling and nothing is happening." The reps answer to this was that for liability reasons Barnett chose not to mess with their existing trigger design and this is how it works. How bad does this trigger have to be that someone in the next booth asks what is wrong? Overall, from the middle of the bow forward it is actually a very nice bow. From the middle back it is a $300.00 Barnett. If they redesigned the trigger and put one in that matches the performance of the front of the bow then they would actually have a decent product. If you like Barnett you will love this bow as it is dead in your hands with no shock and is much quieter than the rest of their line, so for some it will be a great bow...just not for me personally.

I really like the crossbow. Its fast, accurate, and very powerful. I have found one problem with it. I bought a crossbow sling for it. If you use the sling you cant have any arrows in the quiver. It pushes against the first arrow and puts a bow in it. I tried it with 1, 2 ,3, and 4 arrows and it did the same to each one. the only ways to get around this is to have no sling or to carry the quiver in your hand.

This is the most powerful piece of archery equipment I have ever shot. Accuracy A+++. Easy to shoot. I've shot about 35 bolts thgrough it, and I have gone through 4 strings. Barnett has been good to work with to find out what the problem is. But as of now it is the middle of hunting season and they still have my crossbow.

I sighted in the crossbow at 15 yards like the instructions said. I then shot it at 20, 25, and 30 yards using the same crosshair. At 30 yards it dropped one inch. Aim halfway between the first and second crosshairs for 35 yards and use the second crosshair for 40 yards dead on. It is also very fast. I love it. I have killed two deer with it in two weeks

This is one powerful crossbow. In fact, it's almost too much. I have a McKenzie ShotBlocker Crossbow target and even at 35 yards, it buries the bolt to the middle of the vanes. I've also had two shoot completely trough the target after striking where a previous shot had hit. It's also much quieter then my hunting partner's Parker Safari. There's no doubt in my mind that with a good broadhead, this crossbow will easily punch trough a whitetail with power to spare.
