I really just have to comment on Huntersfriend. These guys are great. They also are HIGHLY recomended by BOWTECH. I ordered the stud package and they are more than willing to upgrade anything you want. I wanted the $75 release and they only charged me $25 more. The QAD rest is awesome. They gave me the trophy ridge 5 pin sight. I asked if I should upgrade that and they said it was an awesome sight and I would be very happy. What ever bow you choose, you cant go wrong with Huntersfriend!!!

My opinion(s):
1. The Stud is a great bow for the money. It would still be a good bow if it was priced $100 more.
2. Today's single cam bows probably offer a bit nicer feel than binary cam bows for novices.
3. The Stud has the built-in ability to micro-tune the draw stop to fit you and make adjustments as you get more acclimated to the bow and the sport.
4. The Sniper is a darn good bow, too.
5. Hunters Friend sure makes their packages tempting, but I think you'll have to recognize up-front that chances are you'll be making upgrades within the first six months (although the QAD Ultra is a fairly popular rest). The sight choices are good beginner sights, but there are much better out there. Likewise the release. And you'll probably want more than 6 arrows.

Bottom line: Is $699 a good price for a Stud package delivered to your door, the answer you'd get from me is "yes, for a beginner", and you'll probably be really happy with it.

When all the other bow manufacturers worried about speed, bowtech/diamond thought only about comfort. Man did they work wonders. I had a higher budget this year but man I was stuck between the Captain and the Stud. The reason, I never could trust split limb bows. The stud would cost 800 dollars if some other companies had made it. This is an awesome bow and well worth the money. While I did finish on the Captain, anyone who buys the stud got more than their money's worth and I am sure they will enjoy it for many years as it is truly cutting edge for a bargain bow. You will not go wrong with buying this bow. Enjoy archery brothers.

My first bow ever and am very satisfied! Shoots very smooth and low on vibration. Also love the wood grip! Has me wanting to shoot all day.

The only drawback I had was how fast my bow string wore out by the top cam. Less than 150 shots and its already tethered.

I just got the Stud a few weeks ago. Bare bow goes for $549 I love it I dont think there is a better bow for the price. Dont know what kind of set up you want but I spent about $200 on sight,rest,and stab. Had a release already. And About $80 for a dozen arrows.
